2010 Season About Start for Cressman Racing

04/26/2010

It has been a tough couple years for the Hartford, SD second generation driver Johnn Cressman, but 2010 marks a new year and with new cars, new motors and some great help behind the team, Cressman looks forward to the season to start.

“We have been everything but lucky it seems lately,” explains Johnn. “We are generally fast most of the time, but something stupid always happens and we don’t get the results that we should. We have some new things happening for us this year and I am very excited to get the season started.”

Johnn will be racing as much as he can this year, racing locally at the fast 3/8ths of Huset’s Speedway and filling in the gaps with as many other shows as possible including some select World of Outlaw events, NOSA shows and the All Star Circuit of Champions three day race weekend at Huset’s in late July.

Cressman will also be running the short series put on by HRA representative Bill Mellenberndt and I-90 Speedway owner Lyle Howie. The mini-series will consist of three events in Rock Rapids, Iowa with two events at I-90 Speedway.

“We are really looking forward to those five races,” says Cressman. “We have been very fast at both of those places in the 360 as well as the 410, so we should have a pretty good run.”

Johnn’s season starts out with two Huset’s events parked a week apart, with the first of the mini-series event on the 14th of May at Rock Rapids, so be sure to follow the team throughout the 2010 season on their website, www.cressmanracing.com.

Johnn would also like to give a special shout out to all the supporters, fans, and sponsors who have stuck with the team since the beginning.

“Without everybody’s support, it would be extremely tough to make it to the track on a weekly basis,” says Johnn. “Our crew, fans and sponsors really make this deal happen!

2008 Season Re-Cap for Cressman Racing

10/09/2008

The 2008 Season for Cressman Racing, according to some of the finishes, was not all that pretty. But, being the first season in an Outlaw 410 Sprint Car, things went relatively well. There were plenty of crashes and DNF’s, but much of that was due to the very frustrating effect of bad luck. With some electrical issues at the beginning of the year causing a few DNF’s and a tweaked race car at the later part of the season, results cannot be good. On the other hand, when the Cressman Team had a little luck on their side, the finishes were towards the front. The World of Outlaws show at Huset’s Speedway, Johnn put the Bolte’s Roll Off Service WolfWeld Chassis 9th quick and had a respectable run throughout the evening. The team is there, Johnn is there behind the wheel and the motor program is very good, so once the monkey jumps off the back of Cressman Racing, one will certainly see Johnn standing in victory lane very soon. There were some very high points along with many lows, but one can only take the experience gained from this season to build character and use the lows to work off of and use the high points for momentum into the 2009 season.
Currently, Johnn is working for the Terry McCarl Big Game Motorsports Team on the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Tour and will be finishing out the 20008 Season with them. Up next on his schedule is a two-day event in San Felipe Pueblo, NM followed by the California run and then back across the country with a single stop in Topeka, KS, then out to Concord, NC for the World Finals.
The Cressman Team is gearing up for the upcoming season of ’09 and is currently working on a program to head down to Florida towards the end of January to hit a few 360 Sprint shows followed by the 410 events at East Bay and Volusia to get a jump start to a victorious 2009 season.
Johnn would like to thank all of the fans for their support as well as Bolte’s Roll Off Service, Abbas Landscaping, R & R Concrete, Nothdurft Construction, Batteries Plus, Electromotive Engine Controls, Impact Auto Works, Missile Muffler, Performance Graphics, Performance One, Bell Racing, BR Motorports, Total Seal, VP Racing Fuels, Vortex Racing Products, VMAC, Pro Shocks, Curt & Ross Ness Family, Goodridge, Crane Cams and Driver Websites for sticking with the team throughout this season and is glad to say that next year will be a different season.

Cressman Racing takes it to Jackson.

06/22/2008

Johnn Cressman from Hartford, SD, went to Jackson Speedway this past weekend to race at their local 360 event. Johnn dominated the heat race and then for the feature, Johnn got the early lead and then the caution came out on lap 3. One lap later the red came out due to Lee Grosz getting upside down coming out of turn four on the front straightaway. On the restart, Cressman kept the field behind him until another red flag flew for Mitch Runge who flipped right in front of Cressman, collecting Johnn, and ending his night. A win was certainly on the schedule of events for the Cressman Team, but will have to take it up for another night. Cressman plans on switching motors and racing at Huset’s Speedway in the Outlaw class tomorrow night. So keep in tune with www.cressmanracing.com for all the latest results and news updates.
